Approach the Lion

You decide to approach from the open. As you come within a few paces of the lion statue, he awakes. He moves very little, but his eyes shoot open and he raises his head toward you.

"Who goes there? I have been appointed the guardian of these caverns, and I cannot let anyone pass." His voice is deep and booms off the rock walls. "It has been a long time since anyone came this way. What is your business here?"

He watches you with his keen, stony eyes, awaiting your answer.
